Some print-on-demand providers handle GPSR for the products they manufacture and ship. Check with your provider directly. If they don’t cover it, you as the seller are responsible for appointing a Responsible Person and meeting GPSR obligations.

Does GPSR apply to vintage or secondhand items on Etsy?

Items placed on the EU market before 13 December 2024 may be exempt under prior legislation. Vintage and secondhand items listed after that date are covered by GPSR if they are sold as consumer products.

Can I just block EU sales on Etsy instead of complying?

Yes — Etsy lets you opt out of EEA/NI sales in Shop Manager. But this means losing access to one of the world’s largest consumer markets. For most sellers, GPSR compliance costs far less than the revenue lost by blocking EU buyers.

What do I enter in Etsy's Product Safety fields?
