What’s a product family?
Plans are priced per product family, not per SKU – you only register one product per family, not every individual SKU.
Add one product per family – not every SKU
A product family is a group of products that share the same materials, the same intended use and the same test reports – differing only in size, colour or similar. You only need to add the family once – there’s no need to enter every individual SKU.
Example – Jewellery: a gold ring (across all its sizes) is one family; a silver ring is a separate family, because the material differs; a bracelet is another. That’s three product families.
Beyond GPSR & low-risk
Add regulated & higher-risk products
Your plan covers low-risk / GPSR product families. Products that carry CE / UKCA marking, or fall under cosmetics or medical device rules, need extra verification and compliance checks – so they’re charged per product, per year, on top of your plan, based on risk.
Moderate-risk products
Covered by a single CE / UKCA directive – most non-radio electricals and chemical products.
High-risk & specialty products
Multiple directives or strict safety rules – children’s products, machinery, PPE, gas, pressure, radio and energy products.
Cosmetic products
Under the EU & UK Cosmetics Regulations. Includes annual safety-assessor review, ingredient screening, and upkeep of the PIF, CPSR and CPNP / SCPN notification.
Medical devices – Class I
Lower-risk devices under the Medical Device Regulation. Documentation review plus MHRA / HPRA / EUDAMED registration.
Medical devices – Class IIa
Medium-risk devices under the Medical Device Regulation. Notified-body file review plus MHRA / HPRA / EUDAMED registration.

GPSR – the EU’s General Product Safety Regulation – is the safety net for everyday consumer goods that don’t have their own dedicated safety legislation: textiles and clothing, furniture, homeware and kitchenware, jewellery and accessories, stationery, and similar non-electrical items. These are the low-risk product families covered by the Starter–Pro plans. Products with their own CE / UKCA rules – electricals, toys, machinery, PPE, cosmetics and medical devices – carry extra requirements and are added on top as regulated products.

No – VAT is determined by your billing address, not just the UK, and is calculated automatically at checkout. UK businesses are charged UK VAT; EU customers may have local VAT applied, or the reverse-charge mechanism if you provide a valid EU VAT number. Customers outside the UK and EU are generally not charged VAT.
No. All prices shown exclude VAT. Any VAT that applies is added at checkout based on your billing address.

Yes, you can cancel anytime. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial – you’re charged £0 during the trial, and if you cancel before it ends you won’t be billed at all. After that, you can cancel from your account dashboard or by contacting our team; your representation stays active until the end of your current paid period.
Our Product Safety / GPSR plans are billed annually. Our GDPR Article 27 plans can be paid monthly or yearly. If you need a monthly arrangement for a product safety plan, get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.
